Hello, My name is Ralston "Skeeter" Heath.
I began my spiritual journey into magick when
I was a youth of 13. Up until then I had been raised as an
Episcopalian. When I got my first job as a paperboy I began to meet
people. (I had to talk to them to collect) During these visits I
met a man who had some very different views, and of course became
curious. I began reading books on the subject, and soon learned
there is more to life than Sunday morning church.
A couple years later I landed my second job as
a cemetery caretakers assistant. The job is not as exciting as it
sounds; it was mostly mowing the grass. Well one day a new
assistants arrived, he had been hired to replace me as I had turned in
my notice. This guy had just returned from serving as a door
gunner in Vietnam. He was happy to just be mowing grass.
Being young and bulletproof (iow "stupid") I queried him constantly as
I wanted to hear about the adventure of war. He did not tell me a
whole lot about war, but instead gave me much information about other
religions.
When I started high school I landed a job as a
librarians assistant. Here I found many books on the subject of
witchcraft and magick. I tried to perform my own rituals and many
of my experiments ended up badly.
After high school I joined the Navy. While
serving on a destroyer I traveled to many different countries, and
learned a lot about what the world really looks like. I met
people from every major religion and a bunch of minor ones. I
became a born again non-denominational Christian. While studying
for my ministers license I learned the Bible very thoroughly.
During my independent studies I accidentally learned about Kabbalah.
(It can be spelled three different ways) This in turn led me back to
magick. The non-denominational crowd I was with did not wish to
see what I had discovered and so I was labeled a witch. I did not
finish my studies with that church. I left when I was honorably
discharged from the Navy and went back to what I thought was home.
I found that home had changed. Where
once I had many friends who I thought were very cool, it turns out they
had all turned into grown teenagers. Rather than bash my friends,
let me cut to the chase and explain that it was I who had changed. No
longer was I interested in "hanging out" but now I was looking for
intellectual discussion. So I continued my studies but even with
a job at a factory I was sorely pressed to get ordained. Finally
after getting married I then joined the Coast Guard.
During my twenty one years in the Coast Guard I
served on three more ships and five search and rescue stations. I
became an ordained minister but I was still serving as a
Boatswainsmate. (There were no openings for "occult"
chaplains) Thus my understanding of
magick continually grew. I have been well travel and well read..
I have been there and done that, and in most cases have a T-shirt to
prove it. During these years I learned that everything happens for a
reason. That when a student is ready a teacher will appear. Thus
my understanding of magick continually grew.
My Wife Sue has stood beside me for these last
twenty one years. She is happy that I am finally going to stay
home with her and we can grow old together. She is a bit put out
about this web site as she is still a true blue Luthern, but she has
learned religious tolerance over the years. (Absorbing the good
information and discarding the useless.)
Now I have retired from the Coast Guard, but I still
have a need to serve. After much deliberation I was led to the
conclusion that I should serve as a teacher to the world. So thus
is this web site born. A portal if you will, that I may teach
others what I know. To help those I can, to make their lives
better, and make the world a better place for all.
